Some women may complain about the pad of fatty tissue that covers the pubic bone mons pubis. In this case, the procedure to be performed on the patient is liposuction. With this procedure, the mons pubis is also removed, if necessary, by suctioning the excess fat tissue in the fabia major, thereby reducing it. In addition, as an alternative method to liposuction, "laser lipolysis" has recently been a preferred operation to remove the fat in this area. During the process, unlike in the fat absorption process, the fat cells in the region are melted and broken down and removed through vacuuming. During the laser lipolysis process, while the fat cells are melted, the skin tightens, so that the possibility of disrupting the aesthetics of the genital area and the possibility of sagging will be eliminated. Since excess fat on the mons pubis area also causes the genitals to sag downwards and deform, some patients may need to lift this area up with a "lifting" or abdominoplasty procedure. In some cases, regional recovery is achieved with the tightening effect that occurs during the laser lipolysis procedure, without the need for these procedures in borderline cases. This operation, which can be performed under local anesthesia, takes about 15 minutes. Depending on the patient's preference, the procedure is performed more comfortably with sedation instead of local anesthesia. There is no scar left after the procedure. Swelling in this area may last for an average of 5-7 days. After the swelling goes down, the result of the operation can be seen 2-3 weeks later.
